Having a hard time getting a mortgage - especially if you're an immigrant?

Having a hard time getting a mortgage - especially if you're an immigrant?

Then get along to Janet Muteweye Dauramanzi's info sessions in Drogheda on Tuesday. She has started JPS Mortgages & Loans - the first broker here to specialise in helping immigrants buy their own homes. From Zimbabwe, she came to Ireland in 2001 and bought a house in Mornington, Co Meath, in 2003. It wasn't easy, she says, and isn't for many immigrants, even though many save a large proportion of their earnings. Since awarded her Mortgage Intermediary licence by IFSRA recently, she has been marketing her service, visiting African churches in the Balbriggan/Skerries/Drogheda area and placing ads in Polish, Chinese, Indian/Pakistani media. The info sessions are in the D Hotel in Drogheda at 5pm and 7.30pm. She can also be found at www.jpsmortgages.com.
