Kilcoole, Co Wicklow, the setting for the RTE series Glenroe, is also the backdrop for Corrig Hall, Townpark Estates' new development of seven detached four-bedroom bungalows being launched by Jackson-Stops & McCabe this weekend.

The houses, priced from £285,000, are large at 1,800 sq ft and come with the option of a conservatory or garage as extras. The will add £15,000 to the cost of the house. The location of the site is two miles south of Greystones, just as you enter Kilcoole, and across the road from the Holy Faith Convent. There are mountain views and glimpses of the sea from most of the houses. Quality of finish is much in evidence, from the well-fitted kitchens to solid brass handles and fittings on doors and windows.

Developer Pat O'Connor, of Town Park Estates, will allows buyers to alter the standard layout to their own specifications, provided a purchasing commitment is made well ahead of the interior fitting out. In the Corrig Hall show-house, viewers will see the standard interior, which has two double bedrooms upstairs, including the main en suite, a sitting-room, family room, bathroom and a semi open-plan kitchen/dining-room leading out to a conservatory.

The dormer-style houses have a pitched roof porch with granite pillars and a short flight of steps to a leaded glass front door. This opens on to a small tiled lobby and the inner hallway.

The sitting-room at the front of the house is large, with a curved marble fireplace and a deep bay window suitable for a window seat. Across the hall, a family room has a Victorian style cast-iron fireplace and a bay window. Beside this, there is a walk-in airing cupboard. The two downstairs bedrooms are small doubles and one has fitted wardrobes. There is a very spacious kitchen /dining-room area at the back of the house, cleverly divided by a partial wall into a galley kitchen and a diningroom.

The kitchen has a good range of units with maple doors and Wicklow granite worktops as standard. Beyond the dividing wall, the dining-room has sliding doors leading to an optional conservatory and the back garden. All the gardens in the development, although not large, are walled and sheltered by mature conifers. The approach is via a private roadway with electronic gates.
