ARCHITECTS twiddling their thumbs these days might like to dust down any interesting conservation projects they've done over the past four years – because they might be in line to win an award from the Irish Georgian Society.

The society is presenting its awards in two categories: one for outstanding conservation works done by Irish-registered architects in Ireland or Britain and the second to award for drawings of historic buildings – by hand, not CAD (computer-aided design).

Entries, which must be submitted by July 5th, are to be judged by a panel including Desmond FitzGerald, the Knight of Glin(president of the society), as well as David Griffin, director of the Irish Architectural Archive; Dr Eddie McParlandof TCD, and Frank McDonaldof this parish.
