A residential development site near the River Barrow in Carlow town is for sale through Hamilton Osborne King for £2.5 million. The 21-acre site could accommodate up to 168 houses, assuming a density of eight houses per acre. Pat Nolan of HOK says that Carlow is now within Dublin's commuter belt, with three-bedroom semi-detached houses selling for about £100,000, and four-bed detached houses for around £140,000. The site adjoins a new bridge near the River Barrow and a link road to the Portlaoise and Dublin roads; it is a 10-minute walk from the town's centre, according to HOK.
