WE’RE hearing a lot about Chinese spending power at the moment – so it will be interesting to see if many members of the Chinese community in Ireland turn up at next week’s Allsop/Space mass property auction on the strength of a feature about it in The Epoch Times.
The Epoch Times, which is based in New York, has published in Chinese, among other languages, since it was set up in 2000.
There was a noticeable smattering of Chinese investors at the last auction in November, but the article about next week’s auction on the back of The Epoch Times is expected to drum up even more interest in the auction .
Apparently Chinese investors are particularly interested in high yield apartments in the city centre and vacant retail units in towns and cities.
And it’s not just the Chinese, Allsop Space say investors all around the world are registered to bid on the day and have sent their deposit cheques from countries including Hong Kong, Japan, Canada, Australia, Italy and the UK.
