ShopFront: Clive Christian furniture was available in Dublin for many years through an outlet off Nassau Street. This closed a year ago but now another company, Enviro Home Systems, holds the franchise for the company best known for very expensive (think €45,000/€70,000 upwards), very traditional-looking kitchens (Victorian, Regency and Edwardian styles).

Despite the steep prices, this is popular stuff, probably because it is so well made and finished. At the moment it's available at Enviro Home Systems in Monkstown, Co Dublin, but there is no furniture on display. All that will change by June when a 464 sq m (5,000 sq ft) building opens in Stillorgan Industrial Park, Birch Avenue, fitted out with Clive Christian kitchens as well as room sets showing off the other furniture the company makes for the diningroom, bedroom, study and so on.

Enviro Home Systems also sell Waterford Stanley Aga ovens and other German kitchen unit ranges and these will also be shown off in the new building, making it a must-see destination for those in the market for top of the range fit-outs.
