Housebuilders Dwyer Nolan have run into difficulties with their plans for a housing development in the tiny Co Kildare village of Johnstown. An Bord Pleanala has just overruled the local planners' decision to grant permission for 141 houses, 40 apartments and four shops in the village on the grounds that the development would be excessive having regard to the existing size of the village and the existing community facilities.
