GOT a fanlight? Cornicing that’s chipped? Thinking (horrors!) of replacing the original sash windows with something draughtproof? Stop – The Irish Georgian Society and Dublin City Council is running a lecture series on Conserving your Dublin period house.

Its team of experts will both talk about the significance of Dublin’s period houses and provide practical information on their care and conservation. They’ll cover all periods and types of houses, from modest Edwardian artisan dwellings to the substantial redbricks of the Victorian suburbs and the fine townhouses of our Georgian city squares.

The lectures start on Wednesday, October 26th, from 6pm-9pm and run for six weeks, They will take place in the Helen Roe Theatre, RSAI (Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland), 63 Merrion Square, Dublin 2. Price for one evening’s lecture is €25 (€15 for students) or €130 (€70) for the whole course. See igs.ie
