Plasma TV screens and designer furniture are included in 41 apartments being launched today, writes Kate McMorrow
Furnished apartments with a designer finish go on sale today in Killarney, Co. Kerry. Lisney's Cork office is taking bookings for 41 mostly two-bedroom units, located beside the Royal Hotel and the Friary in the centre of town.
Prices from €310,000 reflect the extremely high spec furniture and fittings at The Courtyard. Furniture is all by top designers and everything is supplied, down to kitchen and entertainment electrics, bedding from Brown Thomas and Newbridge cutlery. Cherry wardrobes are included and a television is fitted into the main bedroom suite.
Leather sofas and the dining furniture are from the Rolf Benz collection. Flooring throughout is solid ash and bathrooms come with a Jacuzzi bath and separate power shower. Eleven luxurious penthouses from €430,000 include plasma television screens, air-conditioning and balconies.
Previous projects by Oyster developments include Sheen Woods, next to the Sheen Falls Hotel. Architects O'Sullivan Campbell have produced an innovative contemporary design for the Courtyard, one that will cause a stir in the town says selling agent Brian Olden.
A furnished show unit which is a mirror image of what purchasers will get is on view, by appointment with Lisney. Buyers at The Courtyard are expected to be a mix of locals, investors and five-star hoteliers looking for a suitable overflow facility.
The apartments at The Courtyard should be ready to move into within twelve months.
