Irish Distillers has sought planning permission for a mixed-use development on the site of its existing surface car-park at Smithfield, Dublin 7. The three-to-six-storey building with have retail units, a restaurant and office at ground-floor level. There will also be offices on the upper floors and underground car-parking at two levels, accommodating 99 spaces.

In Finglas, Dublin 11, McDonalds Restaurants has been refused permission to change a former snooker hall into a restaurant at 120 Ballygall Road West. Meanwhile, Apt Developments has secured permission for 13 three-bedroom townhouses and a warehouse of about 20,000 sq ft on two levels on the site of the former Goldenbridge House, Inchicore, Dublin 8.
