Dublin 3: from €330,000A new apartment development in the heart of Dublin's docklands hits the market this week.
Alexandra Place, East Road, Dublin 3, is located just off North Wall Quay and beside Alexandra Basin.
The scheme, which will eventually comprise 70 apartments, is being built by Donegal-based McGinley Construction Ltd.
To date, McGinley has concentrated on residential work in Donegal and this is the company's first foray into the Dublin residential market.
The first 30 apartments are for sale from plans at Hooke & MacDonald's offices on Lower Baggot Street from today.
Prices at Alexandra Place start at €330,000 for one-bedroom apartments of 56sq m (600sq ft). Two-bedroom apartments with 62-81sq m (670-870sq ft) are priced from €420,000. Two-bedroom apartments with study are priced from €485,000.
Priced with the first-time buyer in mind, fit-out at the scheme will be contemporary, featuring lots of glazing to capitalise on views.
The apartments will have solid cherry fitted kitchens and appliances are included as standard.
The East Wall area of the city is developing fast, with a host of new businesses, hotels and restaurants opening in the area.
The recent announcement that the nearby Spencer Dock is the preferred venue for the proposed national conference centre was a further boost to the area.
The scheme is located within minutes of the Dart, mainline and Luas services at Connolly Station. The proposed Calatrava Bridge at Macken Street will link the East Wall area with the southside of the city.
Underground car-parking can be purchased at Alexandra Place for an additional €30,000 per space.
Completion is scheduled for the end of 2007, according to the selling agent.
