WE CAN'T deny it, there were some among us who felt Richard Curran's prescient Future Shockproperty crash programme five years ago was a tad over the top, with its shots of dark clouds gathering stormily over the Dublin skyline – still filled with cranes, of course. Some of us felt that the appalling vista he described was, well, unlikely.

What can we say, except that this time we’ll pay attention to his follow-up programme on RTÉ next Monday when he asks what’s next for Ireland’s residential property market. Curran travelled to Finland and Japan to see what lessons we can learn from their property crashes and talked to people like Peter Nyberg, author of the Nyberg report into Ireland’s banking crisis, and economist Alan Ahearne, special advisor to the late Brian Lenihan. It’s on October 10th at 9.35pm.
