A seven-bedroom house in Donnybrook that sold for over €3 million has been added to the Property Price Register making it the most expensive property bought since the register launched at the end of September.

While last week’s Around The Block counted the number of properties sold for October at 1,152, a number more were added since as their details were processed.

The latest data shows that 16 Argyle Road in Donnybrook sold for €3,050,000 on October 1st. Argyle Road is now the most expensive house sold since the launch of the register, easily surpassing the €1.82 million paid for St John’s at 48 Glasthule Road in Sandycove.

The sale price for No. 16 agreed with estate agent Sherry FitzGerald came in at €450,000 less than the original €3.5 million asking price when it was posted on myhome.ie.

The selling price of over €3 million was still well above the €2,011,999.99 paid for neighbouring 13 Argyle Road in April 2010.

Around the corner, 12 Herbert Park – a six-bed house – is on the market for €3.5 million with estate agent McNally Handy. The register tells us that up the road, 19 Herbert Park sold for €2.425 million in May 2011.
