Co Wexford from €194,000: West Wexford is one of those regions which are a little too far for an everyday commute and have a distinct rural character. Narrow high-banked lanes wind back and forth across the borders of Wexford and Carlow through villages which are often postcard pretty.

Such a place is Clonegal, where The Phillips Partnership is selling the last six properties at Moyacomb Meadow. Five of these are dormer bungalows, with four bedrooms and up to 150sq m (1,623sq ft) of living space. One three-bedroom terraced house is also on the market for €194,000.

The five dormers are pink-washed and in keeping with the character of this heritage village. Moyacomb Meadow is on the main street, with the terraces opening onto this main thoroughfare.

Adamstown Builders has produced a good standard of finish at this 31-unit development. The houses have high thermal values and a timber-frame construction. Semi-solid wood floors are laid in sitting and television rooms, while halls are tiled. En suites lead off the two largest bedrooms. There are two pricing structures for the dormers. A 149sq m (1,604 sq ft) four-bed unit costs €346.000. Another with 162sq m (1,744sq ft) and a second reception room costs €354,500. All have good gardens. This is the final phase at Moyacomb Meadow and the six units will be ready to move into by the end of 2006.
