THE BABY'S room at 6 Woodfield Place (see page 4) was decorated when the owner was pregnant and didn't know whether she was having a boy or a girl.

Rather than just stick with safe gender-neutral yellow she decided to incorporate a whole palette of cheery colours.

The wall was painted in DuraCoat matt Classic Cream by Homebase, at €23.99 for 5l, (www.homebase.ie) to match the cot.

The coloured circles were drawn by the owner using a dinner plate, a spirit level and some tester pots of paint in yellow, orange, mint green and dark pink.

In keeping with the theme she bought the colourful lantern at Urban Outfitters (01 6706202)which picks up on the colours on the wall and the mint green in the curtains which were bought ready made from Harry Corry(01-822 1827). The Blue Door (01 6279855) has a range of bright and breezy fabrics suitable for a gender neutral nursery curtains which cost from €27 a metre.
