DUNNES Stores is to join the list of anchor tenants at the Nutgrove Shopping Centre in Rathfarnham, Dublin 14. The company is believed to be paying in excess of £3 million for a 30,000-square-foot anchor slot in the centre which will be used as a department store. Half of the space is already available and Dunnes will develop the remaining space. Dunnes' 4,000-square-foot unit in the centre, previously occupied by Cassidys, is to be taken over by Lifestyle.
Besides Dunnes, the other anchor tenants in Nutgrove are Quinnsworth, Penneys and Roches Stores. The giant UK retailer, Argos, recently opened a 10,000-square-foot store in the centre.
AIB Investment Managers, which holds a majority stake in the 10-year-old shopping centre, has greatly strengthened its trading position over the past 12 months.
