The appeal of Dunnes Stores has again been demonstrated following its selection as anchor store in the new shopping centre being built at Blackpool in Cork. Dunnes is understood to be buying the mixed-use store of 65,000 sq ft. Marketing of 40 shop units ranging in size from 400 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft will begin in September, and is being handled by Druker Fanning and Partners and Hamilton Osborne King. The new 100,000 sq ft centre is expected to be a major boon to the north Cork suburbs when it opens in the autumn of 2000. There will be 630 on-site parking spaces in the complex, which is being developed by Clayton Love.
