European Commission to move to new offices

THE European Commission is to move to high-profile premises at the corner of Dawson Street and Molesworth Street, Dublin 2

THE European Commission is to move to high-profile premises at the corner of Dawson Street and Molesworth Street, Dublin 2. The 16,000 square feet of offices, formerly occupied by Ulster Bank, will be renamed European Union House. Finnegan Menton acted for the commission. The commission will be paying a newly-negotiated rent of £11.70 per square foot and £1,100 for each of the 15 car-parking spaces. The commission is to share an information centre on the ground floor with the European Parliament. Irish Life had been underwriting Ulster Bank's rent as part of a package of incentives to persuade it to move to George's Quay.

The European Commission's existing 16,000 square feet of space at the opposite end of the same building, at 18 Dawson Street, has been assigned to the Irish Insurance Federation. It was represented by Shannon and Co.
