Soul singer Lisa Stansfield is the latest star to sell up in Dalkey - the neighbourhood that was once known as Bel Eire because of the number of stars who lived there.

Stansfield is selling Mount Henry, a six-bedroom Victorian house in a stunning setting high on Torca Road overlooking Killiney Bay. The singer bought the house 14 years ago, when rock stars and movie folk were snapping up some of the best homes along the south Dublin coast attracted by the low prices and the tax-free environment.

Most of the artists have since moved on - Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds, actress Patsey Kensit, racing driver Damon Hill to name but a few. Now it's time for Lisa Stansfield to relocate.

The singer has homes all over the world and is not using Mount Henry as much as she used to, according to Robin Palmer of Ganly Walters who is selling the five-bedroom house complete with basement recording studio. He has put an AMV of €8 million prior to the auction of the 0.75 acre property which is located at the top of Torca Road. It goes to auction on June 7th.

The sloping front garden includes a sweep of lawn with a bench posititioned in front of the magnificent view. Behind the house the garden slopes upwards again, with two level areas of lawn.

Inside, the 511sq m (5,500sq ft) house has a quirky layout and the odd Hollywood touch such as the diningroom with mirrored ceiling and the circular bath in the main en suite bedroom.

At hall level there is a fabulous double drawingroom with two wide sets of windows looking out to sea. Across the hall is a smaller sittingroom while at the back of the house, a corridor leads to the diningroom, a study and the kitchen, with its expensive hand-made units and marble floor. There's a second staircase in this part of the house, as well as access to a courtyard.

The top floor has a diva-style main bedroom with the bed facing the superb views of sea and sky, through a wide bay window. With a small kitchenette and a room-sized en suite bathroom, where the circular bath also has a sea view, this a place to retire to from the world. It also has access to a spiral staircase leading to a totally private roof terrace facing the sea.

The basement has soundproofed recording and mixing rooms and several storage rooms for equipment as well as a sittingroom and kitchen. A coach-house has been converted to provide a garage with a large studio apartment overhead.
