ShoparoundFarrow & Ball fans will be delighted to hear that the master paint and wallpaper manufacturer has chosen Dublin as the location for its next European showroom.
Due to open in early summer, the new shop will be located in the old bank building beside MRCB Paints' outlet in Cornmarket, Dublin 8, which is a major outlet for the UK wallpaper company.
Farrow & Ball already has a number of international showrooms, including Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Boston and Toronto.
The entire wallpaper collection - over 700 of Farrow & Ball traditionally dragged, striped and block printed papers - will be available to view, sample and order from the showroom, as well as a full paint collection.
In-store free colour consultancy advice will be provided by specially trained staff as part of the new shop's service.
In the meantime, you can check out Farrow & Ball's new wallpaper collection, the Ringwold Papers, at MRCB Paints.
Based on an early 18th century silk pattern design, it comes in 48 different colour options and is priced at €94 a roll.
With a 60cm repeat, the stylised sprig and berry design features winding branches and two-tone variegated leaves.
Originally a historical damask design with influences taken from the near and Far East, the design would have been originally used as woven textile for couture dresses and elaborate gentlemen's waistcoats.
The big repeat pattern of Ringwold should go down well with Irish homeowners who have really taken to Farrow & Ball's venture into block prints, according to Stephen Barrett of MRCB Paints.
Prints rather than stripes and dragged papers are consistently better sellers in the Irish market, he said. The most popular are the Silvergate collection, 19th century English damask designs, and the Saint Antoine collection, which features a 18th century French damask paper originally produced in 1793. Price €124 a roll.
