Tuesday (November 8th):Christie's, New York. I CAN SEE THE WHOLE ROOM! ... AND THERE'S NOBODY IN IT! by Roy Lichtenstein (pictured), dating from 1961, sold for $43.2m (€31.663m). This set a new auction record for the artist.

John Weldon Auctioneers, Cow’s Lane, Temple Bar, Dublin 8. Victorian rose diamond brooch €3,500 (€3,500-€4,500); a set of boxed platinum cufflinks by Tiffany, New York €1,500 (€1,500-€2,500).

Sale of three paintings on the instruction of the National Asset Management Agency (Nama): Dollar Sign by Andy Warhol $782,500 ($400,000-$600,000); Arches Cover by Robert Motherwell $74,500 ($60,000-$80,000); Ace Airport by Alex Katz, unsold ($150,000-$200,000).
