Co Wexford: €550,000: A partially restored old stone and brick coach-house in Camolin, Co Wexford, may tempt buyers keen to get their hands dirty in a restoration project. Wexford Estate Agent Warren Estates expects to make in the region of €550,000 for Old Mountnorris Coach House and Stables at Camolin Park at auction on October 17th.
An ambitious restoration project was begun by the current owner in 2002 and the charming 510sq m (5,500sq ft) building has been fully wired and fitted with antique radiators. Underfloor heating has been installed and the building fitted with ceiling, floors, doors and hand-made teak windows.
The owner, an American working in the film industry, is selling up following a decision to return to the US. The property is just outside Camolin village and is set on three acres of mature forest.
The coach-house, now a protected building, dates from 1834 and was built by the Annesley family. It formed part of Camolin Park House estate, which is now a 600-acre mixed forest run by Coillte. It is nine miles from Gorey and a five-minute drive to the main Dublin-Rosslare Road.
