Longwood, off the Dublin Road, Drogheda, is a development of 33 fivebedroom homes currently on show, of which 10 are already sold. At £250,000 to £275,000, they are half the price of a comparable home in the Dublin suburbs. Due to be ready for occupation in November, they come with cobblelock driveways and front and back gardens which will be levelled and seeded. At 1,854 sq ft, they are spacious, which is evident the moment you step through the natural pine double doors into the livingroom. This room has recessed lighting and a feature pine fireplace.

Double doors lead to an expansive kitchen which has ample Shaker-style units and a chrome cooker hood. From here patio doors lead to the back garden. The large utility room off the kitchen has a door to the side of the house. To the right of the entrance hall is a study wired for telephone.

Off the U-shaped landing is the main bedroom which has a bay window overlooking the front garden and attractive slatted wardrobes. The en suite bathroom comes with power shower.

There are three good-sized double bedrooms, all of which are wired for telephone. Even the fifth single bedroom is big enough to fit a double bed. Drogheda has a good rail link and road network, although traffic congestion and a lack of parking have been issues in the town for some time. Among measures to alleviate this are the Drogheda bypass, a bridge over the Boyne from the dual carriageway to Dwyer Street and a new multi-storey car park on the south side of the quays.
