With four-bedroom semis in the outer Dublin area now costing well over £160,000, viewers this weekend may be interested in The Priory, a housing scheme at Johnstown, Navan, Co Meath, where four-bedroom houses from £127,995 are being launched by agents Ross McParland.

Johnstown is a pretty tree-lined village on the Dublin side of Navan, destined to expand as surrounding farmland is developed. To get there, you take the Navan Road from the city, continue through Dunshaughlin and take a right turn for Johnstown just before crossing the river Boyne on the outskirts of Navan.

The Navan area has been singled out for major expansion over the next few years. Although transport to the city depends on road and bus at present, a rail link from Navan is a possibility in the future.

There are 40 houses for sale in this phase of The Priory, all with four-bedrooms and mostly semi-detached, measuring 1,335 sq ft. They have traditional three-quarters brick and pebble-dashed fronts with tiled porches and good front gardens. Special features include light cherry kitchen units, standard wall tiling and fireplaces. Tongue and groove upstairs flooring could be sanded and varnished.
