The kitchen in 14 Pembroke Lane is a study in creams, mushroom and taupes, all put together to create an idealised French country look.
The units, which continue to the ceiling, were designed and made by Harriet's House (60 Dawson St, Dublin; 01-677 7077). They are painted in Farrow Ball's Cord shade.
Strip lighting runs between the top of units and ceiling. "That modernises the kitchen a little," says Cormac Rowell of Harriet's House.
The countertop is in distressed limestone from Artefaction (12-13 Lime Street, Dublin 2; 01-677 6179; www.artefaction.ie). "We wanted to create a natural old look and this material looks better as it ages."
The floor is made from 7in strips of wide lime-washed wood and is echoed by wood-effect wallpaper that frames the French doors. These lead from the kitchen to an enclosed courtyard with raised patio, effectively extending the size of the kitchen during summer months.
The large black five-oven Aga sits on one side of the room and other appliances are by Miele. The table and low back upholstered chairs are from Harriets House.
