Rush/from €362,000: A good mix of houses costing up to €485,000 go on sale this weekend at a village-style development in Rush. Kate McMorrow reports
A new development on Skerries Road, Rush, north county Dublin, goes on sale this weekend through Leahy New Homes. Houses with proper gardens are a rarity these days and Rush hasn't experienced much development lately, so expect strong interest in phase one of Golden Ridge, opening its doors for the first time on Saturday.
Showhouses will be on view for seven styles of three and four-bedroom houses, with prices from €362,000 for an 89sq m (956sq ft) three-bed mid-terrace. Three-bedroom semis of 103sq m (1,043sq ft) cost from €394,000.
There are three layouts of three-bedroom detached houses on offer. The smallest with 90sq m (969sq ft) of space costs from €428,000. There is a larger 102sq m (1,093sq ft) model at a lesser price - from €425,000.
Another three-bed detached house with 95sq m (1,024sq ft) of space starts at €485,000. Four-bed semis of 127sq m (1,364sq ft) are also priced from €485,000.
With so many different styles and sizes, there is an interesting village look to this new scheme, with some exteriors painted in deep colours, others half brick and render. The absence of monolith apartment and duplex blocks is refreshing.
First-timers will probably opt for the smallest three-bed terraced houses starting at €362,000. These are a good size at 89sq m (956sq ft) and have the kitchen/diner to the front, with a livingroom running the width of the house at the back. All three bedrooms include wardrobes and there is an en suite shower off the largest room.
Buyers with a bigger budget can take their pick from three and four-bed semis and detached houses with varied features such as porthole windows, walk-in wardrobes and sunroom extensions.
The developer is Knightstone; design is by Whelan Corcoran Smith Architects.
Completions are expected from October this year with the entire development scheduled for completion by the end of 2007. Viewing starts at 2pm on Saturday.
