THE Government is expected to agree shortly on the composition of the new boards of Temple Bar Properties and Temple Bar Renewal Ltd. Both boards completed their terms of office on March 31st but the executives are adamant that their absence did not lead to the collapse of the sale of part of the Green Building which is to be occupied by the UK fashioner retailer, Red or Dead. A private investor had agreed to pay about £800,000 for two floors in the run up to the end of the tax year but the deal fell through.
Temple Bar Renewal, which is chaired by the lord mayor, has to approve property sales and the uses to which building are put.
Insiders expect the Government to introduce a number of changes on the board of Temple Bar Properties which has a disproportionate number of accountants and no architects, despite the aspiration to introduce innovative architecture in the area.
