Veteran estate agent Gerry Henry, who sold a great deal of the development land and buildings for religious orders and the Catholic church in the Dublin area over the past half century, has finally retired from Hamilton Osborne King. However, he has no intentions of bowing out of the business and is busy this week setting up a property consultancy in association with Farley Property in Merrion Square. A founding member of HOK, an agency with hot contacts in both Protestant and Catholic camps, Gerry's coups in recent years included the sale of St Anne's in Milltown, Rathfarnham Abbey and the Linden Nursing Home. He also did extremely well out of his friendship with the late hotelier P.V. Doyle. Last autumn he sold a staggering £33 million worth of properties for the Doyle family after their hotel business was taken over by Jurys.
