With the new homes market winding down next week for the summer holidays, developer Eugene Larkin has scored another success with a scheme of detached homes on the edge of Hollystown Golf Course, at Hollywood Rath, Dublin 15.
McPeake Auctioneers took bookings last weekend for 44 homes with a total value of around £11 million. Most of them were bought by families trading up from areas in north Dublin. One family based in London booked their new home in Hollystown Demesne after perusing this paper's Property Supplement on the Internet. Joe McPeake of the selling agents said that at several stages on Sunday, there were huge queues of people waiting to look at both show-houses. Because of the demand, they were now planning to release a further 15 houses, which are likely to be ready for occupation early next year.
Prices ranged from £220,000 to £225,000 for four-bedroom detached houses with 1,600 sq. ft, and from £260,000 to £270,000 for three/four bedroom dormer homes with 1,900 sq. ft. About 25 per cent of the buyers also booked conservatories, which cost an extra £15,000 to £20,000.
