They’ve set up Merrion Retrofit after spotting a gap in the market for older homes that may not need an extension but could do with a complete upgrade. In particular, an energy upgrade can dramatically reduce household bills but the attendant upheaval that comes with it can be off-putting.
Merrion Retrofit estimates a proper energy refurb in a 30-year-old home can knock €2,000 off an annual oil heating bill of €2,500. They will assess the project from start to finish and rather than solely focusing on the energy upgrade, they will upgrade and finish everything effected by the project. By ordering and agreeing everything in advance it can all be done in six weeks.
