North Strand, in Dublin's north inner city, is definitely an area on the move . . . and prices there prove (if proof were needed) that it is next to impossible to find anything to buy in Dublin for under £100,000. A "quaint semi-detached cottage", 3 Strandville Place, described by selling agent Gunne Residential as an "ideal first-time buyer purchase" went on sale by private treaty recently with an asking price of £82,000. By the time the final viewing was held this week, the price for the 495 sq ft two-bed not far from the Five Lamps had jumped to £103,000, a full 25 per cent more than the asking price.
