Joan Collins wardrobe was fantastically theatrical: power shoulders cinched into wasp-waist jumpsuits, two-piece pencil skirt suits and turbans to hide bad hair days and a slash of a blue-red lipstick that would give Cruella de Ville a run for her money. In one episode she wore a peignoir pink jacquard negligee with ostrich feather cuffs. Designed by Nolan Miller it was sold by Heritage Auctions. In the same vein is this fantastically OTT ostrich feather floor lamp from A Modern Grand Tour (amoderngrandtour.com), €5,779, available at Arnotts (arnotts.ie). Mourne Textiles (mournetextiles.com) is already in the little black books of many upscale fashion and home furnishings designers. Gorgeous androgynous independent British fashion house Margaret Howell (margarethowell.co.uk) has just picked up these beautiful blankets. They cost about €250, come in a serene woodland green or a mid sky grey and can be ordered from the Dublin store (01 492 7143). In the London shops you can buy tweed cushions, about €165 each and also on display is Mourne’s Milano rug, about €1,134 per square metre. This luxurious version features twists of virgin wool that are fed into the weaving process by hand. It looks fabulous and feels glorious underfoot.
