Investor pays £1.3m for Sandyford retail mall

A PRIVATE investors has paid close to the asking price of £1.3 million for a shopping mall which forms part of Sandyford Shopping Centre, at Blackthorn Drive, Dublin 16. The sale was handled by Harper O'Grady. Built in 1980, the block, which includes a supermarket and six retail units, is currently producing an income of £113,575. The largest tenant, Supervalu, is paying a rent of £30,000 for 5,420 square feet under a lease which is due to be reviewed next November. Three of the other leases are also to be reviewed at that time. The other tenants are Typecraft Printers, which is paying a rent of £25,000; ORM Kitchens, £20,000; Riverline off licence, £16,000; Handy Hire, £9,500; a post office, £7,000 and Four Star Pizza, £6,075.
