Shoparound: If it's gold leaf glamour or quirky statement pieces you're after check out some of the more lavish ranges of Italian furniture available at Limited Edition in Dublin's Francis Street.
There is no shortage of Irish homeowners keen to get their hands on something a "little bit different" to grace their homes and they are willing to splash out for that unique look, according to Limited Edition's Laurence Benezra.
Over-the-top and opulent is what Italian furniture maker Casali does best and now its range of stunning furniture is available exclusively from Limited Edition. The small family-run company specialises in exclusive pieces which are produced slowly using old-fashioned traditions, according to Benezra.
Casali's Louis Philippe chaise longue is a real show stopper. Available in a number of sizes it can go up to 200cm long, 90cm deep and 160cm high. It costs around €3,500. To cover the couch you will need about seven metres of fabric and really red velvet is the only way to go. Expect to pay around €70 a metre.
A stunning silver leaf sideboard will cost around €3,900. Side tables from the company retail for around €850 and a console with gold or silver leaf accent will cost you around €2,500.
A bit more quirky and decidedly more funky is the new range from Creazioni, which produces magnificent fabrics and finishes and quirky variations of classical pieces. A French bedside table finished in a high gloss electric blue lacquer is a great example of Creazioni's inventive take on old favourites. Price from €1,750.
Playful and theatrical, Creazioni's range includes seriously camp arm chairs, such as the Giacomo chair and the cartoon-style king's crown mirror called Biancaneve.
Limited Edition will be among 100 exhibitors at the Interior Design Show at the RDS which will run from Friday, May 19th to Sunday, May 21st.
