Dublin 24/from €305,000: The last 20 apartments at a development in the foothills of the Dublin mountains are on the market, writes Kate McMorrow

The final apartment phase at Hunters Hall launches today with Sherry FitzGerald New Homes. This is part of Hunterswood, a popular development of apartments and houses off Ballycullen Road in Dublin 24 at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains.

Prices start at €305,000 for one-bedroom apartments of 44.5sq m (479sq ft). Two-beds from €390,000 range in size from 68.2-78sq m (734-840sq ft).

Good-sized three-bedroom apartments of around 80sq m (872sq ft) cost from €425,000. Forty units were sold in an earlier launch and these are the last 20 apartments at Hunters Hall.

The success of this Ellier Developments scheme is due in part to the mountain backdrop, but also to the attractive user-friendly design of the site.

Houses and apartments are laid out village-style, with differing roof heights, pedestrian pathways and excellent landscaping that is a signature of Ellier projects.

Hunterswood is now almost completed and most owners are in residence. Show apartments are on view at Hunters Hall from noon today and tomorrow. The largest block, at seven storeys high, is a dramatic tower with cedar cladding, brick and render.

While there are several styles and layouts to choose from, interest is expected to focus on bright two-bedroom apartments with wall-to-wall windows on two sides.

An L-shaped sittingroom/diningroom extends to a cream-painted kitchen with integrated appliances. Doors open to a terrace or balcony.

Outside spaces vary in size, some as large as a typical townhouse garden, others more compact.

Bathrooms include wall-hung sanitary ware and unusual faux marble walls with the appearance of groutless tiles. Wardrobes are fitted in all bedrooms and en suites are included in two and three-bedroom units.

Star of the show is a two-bedroom penthouse, for sale furnished and fitted out by designer Seán McGrath of In Situ. The price tag for this smart suburban pad is €550,000.

Across the road from Hunterswood is Woodstown Village, an earlier Ellier scheme with a small neighbourhood centre. The M50 is a few minutes from the site, providing ready access to most parts of the city.

Underground car-parking is non-designated and free of charge.

Landscaping is maturing well, with existing greenery augmented by new planting.
