INTERIOR DESIGNER Lisa Forde (087 2995531) of Silk Road Interiors ignored sober recession chic and went for formality and opulent elegance all the way in the drawingroom of the showhouse at The Heights, Robswall in Malahide village (see page 5). The subtle cream and duck-egg blue colour scheme give it a sophisticated edge.

The Edward sofa and chairs are by a French company called La Fibule (www.lafibule.fr) and come in a range of sizes and fabrics. Chairs are from €1,600 upwards, depending on the fabric. The sofas range from €2,500.

An Oriental vibe is introduced by the leather four door armoires either side of fireplace by eccotrading (www.eccotrading.com) which cost €2,850 each.

The Le Quy Don silk dining chair and Than Da dining table are Vietnamese-inspired and designed by Paul Muller. They are sold by Studio Annam, (www.studioannam.com), the chair is €480, and table is €1,200.

The bevelled mirror (€800), by Morris Mirrors (www.morrismirrors.com), and chandeliers (€340 each) add glamour.
