Toronto Hotel Condominiums: A luxury residential development on top of a new 267-bedroom hotel in downtown Toronto, Canada, are being offered to Irish investors this week.

The one, two and three-bedroom condominium apartments are in the new five-star Ritz-Carlton Hotel, close to the intersection of Wellington Street and Simcoe Street, not far from the downtown waterfront.

The Residences at the Ritz-Carlton are being sold here through agent Hamilton Osborne King.

The 153 apartments will be located above the hotel on floors 26 to 52. Prices for apartments start from €701,673 going up to €5.6 million and range in size from 130sq m (1,400sq ft) to over 900sq m (10,000sq ft).

The top penthouse is a 1,000sq m (10,820sq ft) apartment with a 186sq m (2,000sq ft) terrace and an €8.4 million price tag.

The apartments will have a luxury fit-out with floor-to-ceiling windows, 10ft high ceilings, cornicework, gas fireplaces with limestone mantelpieces, and marble, granite or limestone floors, as well as custom-patterned hardwood. Kitchens come with a choice of granite, marble, limestone or Corian counters; main bedrooms include walk-in closets, cast-iron bathtubs and something called a "San Tropez bidet".

Owners will be able to avail of the amenities at the Ritz Carlton, including a 2,100sq m (23,000sq ft) spa, pool and leisure centre, valet parking and concierge services. Maintenance fees will be €9,000 per annum.

Owners will be able to rent out their apartments and could expect to fetch in the region of €7,000 per month, according to HOK. Construction is due to begin in January 2007, with occupancies scheduled for 2009.
