Mayo and Galway cottages, stars of 'The Field', each £150,000

Two cottages used in the film version of John B Keane's The Field are for sale

Two cottages used in the film version of John B Keane's The Field are for sale. One is on the Clifden side of the picturesque village of Leenane, the other is on the Westport side.

The Clifden-side house is for sale through Galway agent Matt O' Sullivan. The stone-built traditional Connemara cottage is on 38 acres. It is in need of refurbishment and presently has a corrugated iron roof. The agent is suggesting a price of £150,000 (€190,461) for the house and land which commands peaceful, uniterruped views of Killary Harbour.

The Westport house is in an equally bad state of repair and was withdrawn from auction at £250,000 (€317,435) last September. The agent, John Judge, subsequently sold the land and the house is now for sale with 10 acres for £150,000 (€190,461).
