Shoparound: Best known as the Irish distributor of Alno kitchens, McNally has expanded into the furniture market with two top-end European ranges now on display at its new showrooms at the M1 Business Park.

The family run business has been supplying custom-made kitchens to Irish clients for over 35 years and has branched into the top end of the furniture market at the request of clients, says Cathal Brady from McNally.

A new 4,924sq m (53,000sq ft) facility in Balbriggan, with a 650sq m (7,000sq ft) showroom, which opened at the end of last month, offers a lot more space than the company's Ballsbridge showroom at Serpentine Avenue, which will remain open.

Nine different Alno kitchens are on display at the new showrooms in addition to the new ranges of Hulsta and Leolux.

Expect to pay in the region of €14,000 for a full bedroom fit-out including bed, mattress, wardrobe, lockers and a chest of drawers.

The eye-catching Leolux range from Holland is a dramatic selection of high-end once-off pieces. A funky modern aesthetic pervades most pieces in the Leolux range.

Check out the unusual Amphora arm chair. With its rounded high back and matching curvy high arms, the plastic chair looks like it has been moulded out of the one piece of clay. Price €1,320.

Leolux's Adam's Temptation is surely going to become a must-have accessory for bachelor pads around the country.

A high-class bean bag in the shape of an apple (or football) it's super comfortable and can be made in any colour you want (including those of your football team). Prices start at €1,200.

For a more understated but distinctly modern look, the super-flexible B-Flat range of couches is ideal. The adjustable back section of the low-rise couch can swivel back to be placed at any angle, including flat for some serious lounging. It's available in a range of leathers and upholstery and costs from €5,500 for a 2.5 seater.
