Meteor Mobile Communications, recently awarded Ireland's third mobile phone licence, is to open a first retail outlet in Dublin's Henry Steet. The company has paid a premium of almost £150,000 for the former H Samuel premises which adjoins the Esat shop. The company will be paying a rent of £124,000 for around 1,000 sq ft on the ground floor and a further 2,500 sq ft on three other floors.
Kieran Diamond of Ganly Walters advised Meteor, while Lambert Smith Hampton were for H Samuel. Meteor plans to open a chain of outlets in cities and large towns throughout the country. It has already acquired a unit at Galway Shopping Centre.
