Shop FrontThe Minnie Peters store in Dún Laoghaire has become pretty well known over the years for antique and reproduction furniture. But those who've visited on Saturday recently will have found the store closed.
It'snow open Monday to Friday only; owner Miriam Peters and her team of in-house designers are focusing more on fitting out private homes and commercial interiors and easing off on retail.
"We've carried out extensive renovations to make the shop more like a showroom," says Aoife Gavin, marketing manager at Minnie Peters. "We've created 'room settings' . It's now more about offering a full design service."
You can still walk in to Minnie Peters and buy anything, such as a new range of French chandeliers (€250 to €2,000) to traditional Parker & Farr hand-made sofas, which cost a whopping €7,000 for a three-seater or a more reasonably priced Orior sofa for €2,995.
Look out too for more antiques at Minnie Peters.
