THE KITCHEN/DINER of one of the three-bedroom showhouses at Tullyhall is an exercise in adding instant zest and colour to a typical kitchen.

Aimed at young buyers, the interior designers for this new scheme steered clear of stereotypical "safe" showhouse style.

The colour is all in the accessories, like the bright orange Kent chairs, €100 each, and circular Ascot table which costs €750, both from Protea Pine (01 2782166).

The fuchsia and orange lampshades give a vibrant burst of energy to the room and come from Nostalgia Designs (01 2964748) costing €60-€180, In contrast to the accessories, the muted kitchen is from QK Living (01 4500776) and has latte high gloss doors, a walnut surround and Almond Graphics worktop.
