Killiney: €615,000 It's just a few years since Wyvern House, the big house at the centre of a suburban estate near Killiney Castle Hotel in Killiney, Co Dublin, was converted into apartments.

Now a two-bedroom apartment there, number three, is being sold by private treaty through Sherry FitzGerald for €615,000.

It is a big price, considering that a four-bedroom detached house in Wyvern made €800,000 at auction in August, and that the apartment originally sold for about €394,000.

But it is a large bright 101 sq m (1,096 sq ft) apartment in a good location converted with great care to retain period details. It covers the entire hall level floor of Wyvern House, and has its own front door up a flight of granite steps.

This opens, through an inner porch, into an elegant hall with wide timber flooring, centre rose and intricate ceiling coving.

The open-plan kitchen and living-room/ dininingroom is dual aspect, with a large bay window and a timber fireplace with tiled inset and a slate hearth. The kitchen, with a tiled floor, is directly off the livingroom/diningroom.

The kitchen has white units, a striking blue-and-white tiled splashback, Smeg cooker and gas hob and an integrated dishwasher and fridge freezer.

Both bedrooms are doubles. The main bedroom is a bright dual aspect room with timber floors, sash windows with shutters and a dressingroom off it. It also has an en suite partly-tiled shower room. Off the second bedroom there is a storage unit plumbed for a washing machine and dryer.

Wyvern House is surrounded by mature trees and well-kept gardens. There is off-street parking for residents in the gravelled forecourt.
