Most products in Narnia are sourced from Sweden and Denmark, countries which have a great approach to interior design, using a palette of neutral shades mixed with bright stripes and florals, according to owner Claire Doyle.

Now a year in business, Narnia has just secured the agency for Danish company Greengate in Ireland. The Scandinavian design company produces light fabrics in country patterns.

Rolls of fabrics in florals and stripes and matching oilcloths cost from €40 a metre. Its chic range of tableware costs €14.50 for a cup and saucer, matching tablecloths are from €66, cute tea towels €7 and smart box cushions for your picture windows €29.95.

Also from Greengate is a range of lamps. An eye-catching red and white polkadot lamp with cream or chrome base costs €95.

Narnia also carries a lovely range of country enamelware from a company called Chandlers. In pretty pastel green, blues and greens, the range is vintage-chic at its best. A smart coffee pot costs €45 and cute country-style saucepans start from €26.

For the finishing touches, check out a range of brightly couloured accessories and giftware from another Danish company called Rice.

Colourful storage baskets are priced from €30. It also makes lovely tea cosys, ice-cream spoons and baby gifts.

Watch out for new premises, also in Market Place shopping centre, next month where the shop will be carrying a range of painted furniture from Belle Maison.
