Jackson-Stops has knocked a whopping £1 million (1.27m) and more off the price of a Georgian house in Co Meath in the hope of getting a quick sale. Boyne Hill House, a mile from Navan town, went on the market in the spring with a price tag of £3 million (3.8m). Selling agent Edward Townsend is now asking £1.8 million (2.3m) for the nine-bedroom Georgian house on 35 acres with half a mile of frontage on the River Boyne. The three-storey over basement house is in need of refurbishment but has fine reception rooms. There is outline planning permission to run it as a cultural centre and a row of cottages on the grounds could also be refurbished. Worth a detour, as they say.
