CO CORK: €1.5 MILLION:A HOUSE on eight acres overlooking the estuary at Rosscarbery, west Cork, is designed to maximise dramatic views of the Atlantic.
Built in 2009, Seaclusion is a newbuild with a very high spec that includes marble counter-tops in the imported Italian kitchen, a geothermal heat system and a rainwater recovery system. (It also has, of course, an up-to-the-minute septic tank on site).
It was designed by Clonakilty architect Michael Shanahan, and comes with a pretty fancy website too ( seaclusionhouse.com).
The house and a separate cottage in the courtyard are for sale through Hodnett Forde Property Services in Clonakilty for €1.5 million.
It’s a steep price for a holiday home for Irish buyers.
However, west Cork’s appeal has remained constant in the UK and it might do well in that market.
In all, there’s 325sq m (3,500sq ft) of space in the property, including the guest cottage and a utility wing/boathouse.
The most dramatic thing about Seaclusion is, of course, its setting on a hilltop by the sea close to the village of Rosscarbery.
