A new phase of 20 A3-rated, three-bedroom terraced houses are being launched this weekend at Barnageeragh Cove, an estate close to the sea on the outskirts of Skerries, Co Dublin.
The development, where each house style is named after a bird, comprises about 240 units in total and is being constructed by Malachy Clarke and Bernard Carroll of Windsac Ltd who sold the first properties back in 2007.
A number of four-bedroom detached houses launched in 2012, with 21 sold last year. Now the company is launching a three-bedroom terraced house, 140sq m in size. Priced to appeal to first-time buyers, the timber-frame properties cost from €295,000 for a mid-terrace house to €325,000 for the end-of-terrace ones.
In each the sitting room is to the front with double doors opening into an eat-in kitchen-cum-family room. The kitchen has laminate countertops and an oven, hob, extractor, dishwasher and fridge freezer. There is also a small utility room that has been plumbed and vented for a washing machine and drier, though these are not included in the price.
Three bedrooms
Upstairs there are three bedrooms: a single overlooking the garden, a double to the rear and the master bedroom to the front. It has an en suite shower-room that comes furnished with the shower tiled. All the bedrooms have wardrobes by Bedroom Elegance which also did the kitchens. The family bathroom is fitted with sanitaryware and wall tiling around the bath.
Floor-to-ceiling windows are a feature of this style of house and all the windows are double-glazed uPVC. The multipoint locking front doors have been supplied by Minster Joinery. There is a small study area on the landing and the houses are being sold without flooring.
The showhouse has been designed by Miriam Clarke of Miro Interiors.
Each house has a small garden and there is a green that has been seeded but has yet to reach maturity to the front of the housing estate.
The development is close to an Educate Together school and Skerries Point Shopping Centre. Skerries train station is a 10-minute walk away and the commute to Connolly Station takes 40 minutes. The development is due for completion by the end of 2016.
