MEATH: €250,000-€400,000:A development of well-designed luxury apartments in Trim is being offered with golf membership

A JUST COMPLETED development of 28 apartments at Wellington Hall, Knightsbrook, Trim, Co Meath, aims to appeal to buyers wanting to downsize without overly compromising on space. Dimensions are generous: two-bedroom apartments have floor areas of 102-112sq m (1,100-1,200sq ft) and 2.7m (9ft) ceilings; penthouse apartments have three terraces, private roof gardens, 1,850sq ft of space and 10ft ceilings.

The prices “reflect the size and quality” of the apartments, according to developer Hora Homes. The two-bedroom units cost €250,000, and the penthouses are €400,000. They are being sold by Hora Property Consultants, another branch of the family business.

In business for nearly 40 years now, Hora Homes is also the builder of such developments in the area as Norbury Hall, Victorine Abbey and Cluain Rí.

Wellington Hall is surrounded by some of the greenest of Meath’s rolling countryside, on part of the 186-acre parklands with Knightsbrook Golf and Country Resort and Leisure Centre. The apartments have mock period, albeit stylish, facades of limestone and red brick and the common grounds, cheerfully planted with trees, shrubs and flower beds, are behind railings similar to those around the apartment balconies.

Interiors too have been given the comfort and reassurance of a period feel, with white marble fireplaces, central light fittings and decorative cornicing in the living rooms.

The kitchens have been fitted by Kube, an Irish family firm that specialises in German designer kitchens. The entrance hallways have ceiling coving and are wide and welcoming enough to take a console and wall hangings.

The four-storey atrium is something of a design feature, its high support pillars, wood and glass give an ethereal feel with pale, pastel colours.

Each resident is entitled to a secure underground garage with a couple of parking spaces. Each gets a secure storage unit too, with an additional, designated secure space for the storage of golf clubs and large items.

Demonstrating that new home developments need selling points these days, Hora Homes is offering those who buy into the Wellington Hall apartments free membership of the adjoining Christy O’Connor Jr-designed golf course. The Junior Solheim Cup will be hosted there in September.

Wellington Hall is on the Dublin side of Trim, and about a 40-minute drive from the city.

Trim itself makes for a lively neighbour. One of Ireland’s heritage towns, it is on the banks of the river Boyne and has the largest Norman castle in Ireland.
