TWO, three and four-bedroom houses in a development with good eco credentials are on sale in Rathnew, Co Wicklow with prices starting at €299,000. Dooley Poynton Auctioners is handling sales at Wilton Manor where 32 homes are on offer. The houses feature solar panels and heat recovery systems, and come with a top BER rating. Other features include a multi-room sound system and Ipod stations as well as more traditional extras such as timber flooring and carpeting.

IN ENNISKERRY, Forge Lodge, one of three modern houses in an enclave off Forge Road, overlooking the village, has come on the market through Sherry FitzGerald having been previously with another agency. The five-bedroom house on a third of an acre is asking €2.65 million. The 488sq m (5,253sq ft) house was designed to impress with its sweeping staircase, four reception rooms and open-plan kitchen with a wide bay window taking in the view. MEANWHILE in Bray, Co Wicklow, over 20 apartments have been sold at Waltrim Grove, an attractive new development off Killarney Road, with two-bedroom own-door apartments priced at €225,000 and three-bedroom duplexes asking €299,950 through Douglas Newman Good. According to selling agent Gemma Lanigan, several first-time buyers have invested in the two-beds, which, she says, are larger than average at 72sq m (775sq ft) while three-bedroom duplexes are also generous at 104sq m (1,119sq ft).
