Kingsford Cross, a polished development of one, two and three-bedroom townhouses in Portmarnock, returns to the market this week with showhouses open on Saturday from 12-2pm.
Originally marketed by developers Carrickhill Developments in 2011, estate agents Knight Frank have been instructed to sell the scheme on behalf of the receiver Tom O'Brien of Mazars.
The development consists of 15 apartments, six townhouses and four penthouses. Some of the properties enjoy spectacular views over the golf links of Portmarnock towards Lambay Island and the island of Ireland’s Eye.
Located in the village on the corner of Carrickhill Road and Strand Road, Kingsford Cross is named after Sir Charles Kingsford Smith (1897-1935).
Sir Charles was a famous Australian aviator who along with his crew flew their airplane The Southern Cross from Portmarnock to Newfoundland in June 1930.
With easy access to the city and the village’s amenities, the Michael Tweed-designed homes also offer a wide range of energy-saving and technological feature.
These include solar panels and heat-recovery ventilation.
Prices range from €194,995 for the one beds (770sq ft/71.5sq m), from €249,995 for the standard two beds (813sq ft/75.5sq m), from €264,995 (1,001-1060sq ft/93-98.5sq m) for the luxury two beds and from €279,995 for the three-beds (1,098-1141sq ft /102-108sq m).
The three-bed townhouses (1,250sq ft/116sq m) are priced from €379,995.
These prices represent a huge discount on the prices that Carrickhill was originally marketing the properties for three years ago. Back then the asking prices ranged from €275,000 for the one-bed apartment to €450,000 for the townhouse.
You can see what’s on offer at the open view from noon until 2pm this Saturday.
